Tai Chi Workshop

Come and join Master Savannah at the lake for a 2 hour Tai Chi Workshop.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Tai chi, also called tai chi chuan, is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Tai chi has many different styles. Each style may subtly emphasize various tai chi principles and methods. There are variations within each style. Some styles may focus on health maintenance, while others focus on the martial arts aspect of tai chi. Tai chi is different from yoga, another type of meditative movement. Yoga includes various physical postures and breathing techniques, along with meditation.

Who can do Tai Chi?

Tai chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. In fact, because tai chi is a low-impact exercise, it may be especially suitable if you’re an older adult who otherwise may not exercise. You may also find tai chi appealing because it’s inexpensive and requires no special equipment. You can do tai chi anywhere, including indoors or outside. And you can do tai chi alone or in a group class. Although tai chi is generally safe, women who are pregnant or people with joint problems, back pain, fractures, severe osteoporosis or a hernia should consult their health care provider before trying tai chi. Modification or avoidance of certain postures may be recommended.

Why try Tai Chi?

When learned correctly and performed regularly, tai chi can be a positive part of an overall approach to improving your health. The benefits of tai chi may include: Decreased stress, anxiety and depression, Improved mood, Improved aerobic capacity, Increased energy and stamina, Improved flexibility, balance and agility, Improved muscle strength and definition.

More research is needed to determine the health benefits of tai chi. Some evidence indicates that tai chi may also help: Enhance quality of sleep, Enhance the immune system, Help lower blood pressure, Improve joint pain, Improve symptoms of congestive heart failure, Improve overall well-being, Reduce risk of falls in older adults.

It may be that you aren’t sure what you want to gain from Tai Chi, or that you have something very specific you wish to work through. Either way, Tai Chi will help you connect to your truest inner self, clearing old patterns, conditioned beliefs, and past trauma from your path so that you are able to walk lighter, clearer, and more peaceful going forward.

The idea behind Tai Chi is that you are able to get away from the stress of normal life, learn new skills and practises that you can take home to help you live a more mindful, balanced and connected life.

Hello, I am Master Savannah. I have spent many years eliminating severe headaches/migraine /toothache within 60 seconds, through the use of pressure points. Eliminating pain in various parts of the body. Diagnosing through touch ailments and Injuries on clients body. A Zen Shin Katsu head, neck and shoulder massage to relieve stress, and improve sleep pattern. I would say 75% of clients have a sleeping problem when they arrive at my classes or seminars. After the first lesson, over 90% of the class state that they slept so more soundly after follow specific energy training exercises. Working with clients who have Fibro myalgia, anxiety, asthma, arthritis, lack of confidence, drug and alcohol problems, sciatica, going through the menopause, stress related problems, to name but a few.
Many employees are leading sedentary lives at work, which can be detrimental for your joints, muscles, aad posture. Hence more and more companies are introducing holistic arts like tai chi for the workforce.
I teach self defence without the use force, and tai chi does not discriminate, females can adequately be on par with the males.

I truly believe that in order to live a healthy life you need to have a balance of the right ingredients: great nutrition to keep our organs and body functioning to the best of its ability, a strong and healthy body to keep our organs safe and well, and a well-versed mind that can deal with the trial and trepidations of everyday life. The mind and what we fuel our bodies with are more important and sustainable (in my opinion) than 3 gym sessions a week. Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way saying that you shouldn’t exercise. What I am saying is that if you can conquer your mind and your nutrition 1st you will find it easier to add in and stick to a regular exercise program.

It is well known that “most” people will not stick to a new routine without motivation and support, and that’s why I am so passionate about this group and want to provide the ingredients for a healthy life to thousands of people around the world.

So what’s my background and how did I end up here……I started my first corporate job when I was 16, and that’s where I fell in love with fitness.  I was a regular face in the staff gym and corporate aerobics that was held in the canteen afterwork.

Fast forward 20 years, that same company went into administration. I was on maternity leave and found myself with a 7 week old baby, no job to go back to, no money and feeling very lost. I had given my entire working years to that same company and I panicked. I had planned on taking my full year of maternity to get to know my son and learn the ropes of parenthood, but now I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do that. I could feel myself going further and further down a slippery path; I had no energy, I lost my confidence, I felt depressed and I just didn’t know who I was anymore.

One morning as my husband was heading out the door to catch the 6am train to London I realised that I didn’t have any money for the day’s activities, and I had to ask for some. Now don’t get me wrong, we are a one pot house, but I hadn’t been contributing to that pot for over 7 months and I didn’t like it, I felt like I had lost my independence. It was time to do something! I had to stop feeling sorry for myself, get off my backside and create whatever it was I needed to do to get ME back on track. So, I joined a local Bootcamp and that’s really where the next chapter of my life started. 

I made some amazing friends, lost my baby weight and had more energy, my mind was clear and I felt fabulous.

I decided to take my passion for fitness to the next level. I got my fitness qualifications in 2010 and Nutritional Therapist in 2015, and set out to help support other women like me, re-create themselves through gaining an understanding of 3 key elements:

When I first met Alexandra Dawson, my mental and physical health were not doing too well. I have suffered with depression and anxiety for the last 9 years and struggle on a daily basis with food.
